Diagnostic Imaging
Many patients may be misinformed that x-rays are necessary in all cases for proper diagnosis and direction of treatment. This is simply not true. Many conditions requiring conservative care do not require an x-ray or additional special imaging for their diagnosis as it would have no impact on the direction of treatment. In some situations may it may even be misleading if not properly associated with clinical signs. If not required for patient safety, some types of imaging pose the risk of unnecessary exposure to radiation which can be detrimental to health. Dr. Martynuik is highly skilled at diagnosis through history and physical exam, as well as the particular signs and situations in which x-ray imaging may be required for patient safety and diagnosis. This responsibility is taken very seriously and Dr. Martynuik is committed to working with local physicians and health care services to diagnose and treat patients in situations where special imaging is indicated. If you have any further questions regarding this subject please do not hesitate to ask the doctor. |
